Exacta Betting Techniques

Exacta is fast becoming a popular form of betting with racing patrons due to high returns.

HRC as off now does not operate this pool but when winter has arrived how far autumn can be..Sooner or later they will

I have already posted Exacta Waging calculator Here

Here we learn some basics of effective ways of forming exacta tickets

Exacta tickets should be purchased only if  we think that

Favourite will run out of board or

Fav will win and long shots running in places or

First two favs will run out of first three places

One must follow this procedure for  preparing Exacta ticket

First form Forecast ticket  in this fashion AB/ABC

If A or B is fav then C must be at least 5/1

Reason is simple---Handicapping for first two places is very easy when compared to handicapping for third or fourth place

Now proceed to form Tanala in this way

AB/ABC/ABCD

D should be more than 6/1

Finally go for Final exacta Ticket

AB/ABC/ABCD/ABCDEFGH=40 Tickets

E and F are 10/1 shots,G is 20/1 and H is dangerously non contender means 100/1 above

Other way of forming a ticket is picking key horse which is not fav but has chance to finish in 2nd 3rd or 4th place. Considering that Horse B is key horse here.. Ticket would look like

A/BC/BCD/BCDEFGHIJ =28 Tickets

Note that in 4th place we are able to put 9 horses thereby increasing chance

Mr Deccanselections:

You are expecting that HYD will soon follow the BNG & start exacta. However, I am not that much optimistic. I think, HYD should first re-introduce the SHP option.

Now, I would like to say that exacta is a tough pool; tougher than jackpot. So you are 100% right that we can ignore for 4th spot 100/1 horse at our own risk.

My views in this regard:

1. Nominate for 4th spot, all the horses that you have nominated for 2nd spot. Also, if there are more than 1 horse for the 1st spot, even those horses for 4th spot.

2. At this stage, the cost will not be exorbitantly high because of what I have said above. Let us say, your comb at this stage reads like AB/ABCD/ABCDE/ABCDE

3. In other words, you have not included the horses, f,g,h,i,j,k,l.

4. The cost of your ticket illustrated above will be Rs. 360/- (36 tickets).

5. Now, please note that with addition of every horse in the 4th leg, the cost will increase by 180/-. That is if you nominate the entire field for 4th leg, it will cost you 1620 and still it may be a flop. (one among e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l winning or finishing 2nd).

6. So, whatever may be your confidence level about the first 3 legs, you cannot dismiss outright some least fancied horse winning. At the same time we can not nominate the entire field for all the 4 spots.

7. So, go back to my point no 2. Stick to that combination. Then watch the CCTV probable dividend. Scratch from f,g,h,i,j,k,l the horses that are appearing at serial 9 to 12 in the probable dividend list. Include the rest.

8. Please understand, if any of the horses A,B,C,D,E are appearing in serial 9 to 12, those horses not to be scratched. Those horses you have picked on your own logic. It is only those horses that are least betting preferences to be scratched.

9. Suppose, in the display horses D,f,h,j are in the serial 9 to 12. You can scratch f,h & j. So your final ticket comb is AB/ABCD/ABCDE/ABCDEGIKL. The cost comes to 1080/-. (108 tickets).

10. If your budget does not permit such a high investment, then you have no option but to further delete one or two horses from 3rd spot. (Never change the 4th spot nominations).

11. Buy the ticket and leave the outcome to GOD. If wins, pocket the dividend. Else, just do some hard work and attempt the exacta in a subsequent race. The said subsequent race need not be the immediate next race.

Very good points

Yes Exacta is very tough but offers mouth watering dividends.

HRC is saving bookies by not re introducing SHP..it has lost respect of common race goer...hope athys realise this
